Waste Facility Permits
Any business or location accepting waste needs a Waste Facility Permit
A Waste Facility Permit or Certificate of Registration is required to operate a waste activity authorised at local authority level. While larger waste operations are licensed by the EPA, smaller operations, normally limited to an annual throughput, are authorised by the local authority. Examples include:
- Agricultural Land Reclamation (filling of land up to 200,000 Tonnes)
- End-of-life Vehicle Processing
- Waste Transfer Stations
- Sludge Storage
- On-Site Concrete crushing
- Green Waste Composting
- Scrap Metal Sorting
To date, I have compiled applications and renewals for clients back filling gravel pits, agricultural land improvement, recycling agricultural waste, processing ELVs, paper baling and export, waste transfer stations, skip sorting, and sludge storage.
As part of the application service, I engage with the local authority in a pre-application consultation, compile the full application based on your requirements and deal with any further information requests which may come from the LA.
I have extensive experience in the permitting of waste recovery operations such as sorting/ MRTF facilities and dealing with companies that intend on processing their own wastes as an addition to their existing business.
Additional services include environmental reports as part of the planning application process for waste facilities and site selection and appraisal reports.
