All waste collectors must undergo mandatory training required by the NWCPO

All waste collectors are required to demonstrate they have a suitable degree of experience and knowledge to operate their waste collection activity within the conditions of their permit. All persons in a position to ‘direct or control’ the waste collection activity must complete training. This can vary depending on the size of your business and the nature of your waste collection activity. Typically, all directors, managers, and supervisors must complete training.

The Sherwin Environmental Online Waste Collection Permit Holder Training Programme is the only online training for waste permit holders available in Ireland. Trainees are given log-in details to access our online learning platform where they can view the course contents and complete multiple- choice questions quizzes.

The course consists of six modules which can be taken in the trainee’s own time with no need to complete the course in one sitting. Trainees can also repeat modules as many times as they wish. Having complete training, trainees will have a suitable understanding of:
